January 6 - Saying of the Week

The Race at Sunrise

Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows that it must run faster than the fastest lion, or it will be killed.

Every morning a lion wakes up. It knows that it must outrun the slowest gazelle, or it will starve to death.

It doesn't matter whether you are a lion or a gazelle; when the sun comes up, you had better be running.

Christmas Done

Today it was time to pack up all the Christmas decorations for another year and get the tree outside to be recycled - made into wood chips for landscaping or composting. Here's photos of what it looked like on Christmas day - above, all the gifts under the main tree in the family room, below, our main living room and dining area.

New Year's Day 2008

As we start a new year I thought that a couple of sayings from the little book "Success - One Day at a Time" by John C. Maxwell, which showed up at our house at Christmas time, would be appropriate.

The Eight "P" Plan for Achievement

Plan Purposefully
Prepare Prayerfully
Proceed Positively
Pursue Persistenty
